Caroline Curtis Brown Spirit Award: Sunny Eades

Founder Caroline Curtis Brown was an idealist who, through her vision, inspiration and energy, made AWC London an outstanding organization of service to its membership and community.  With equal dedication, Caroline believed that enlightened women, working together throughout the world, could do much to achieve international peace.  The Caroline Curtis Brown Spirit Award was established in 2005 in appreciation of service exemplifying this spirit, inspiration and dedication.

This year’s recipient has been described as “someone who likes to think outside the box.”
She is creative, energetic, thorough, detail-oriented, versatile, and generous with her time, her talent and her resources – a true model of what represents the best of FAWCO.

In 1996, she joined North American Connection and her enthusiasm was contagious.  Within a year, she met our President and recruited Kathleen to also become a member of her Club.  Shortly afterwards, in 2001, she and her new “partner” Kathleen organized a Region 1 Meeting in Birmingham.  It goes without saying that the logical next step was for her to serve as FAWCO Rep for North American Connection in 2002, followed by a move to Regional Coordinator for the same Region in 2003.

We have her to thank for planning the 37th Biennial FAWCO Conference in Birmingham in March 2005.  The theme of this conference, interestingly enough, was “thinking outside the box.”  And her spirit doesn’t stop there – She committed once again, and was elected FAWCO’s 3rd Vice President from 2005-2007.
